<p>New month, new films to get excited about.</p>
<p>This month we see mumblecore veterans,  Mark and Jay Duplass hit the mainstream with &#8216;Cyrus&#8217;. The film stars John C. Reiley as a man looking for love and meets a women who has an incredibly close relationship with Jonah Hill. Hopefully the film will carry on the mumblecore tradition of comedy with honest and realistic characters.</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="350" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0G0bYpMQ-fI" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0G0bYpMQ-fI"></embed></object></p>
<p>We&#8217;ve talked about it before and shown the trailer. Grasper Noe&#8217;s &#8216;Enter the Void&#8217; sees a UK release this month. The film appears to be far more uplifting then the doomfest that was &#8216;Irreversible&#8217;.</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="350" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oRNpSKsBKw8" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oRNpSKsBKw8"></embed></object></p>
<p>Werner Herzog second film of the year, &#8216;My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done&#8217; looks more like Herzog we expect (rather than the over the top &#8216;Bad Lieutenant &#8217;. Starring art house stalwarts  Willem Dafoe and Chole Sevigny as well as being produced by someone you may know called David Lynch.</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="350" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/43oniH2EAdw" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/43oniH2EAdw"></embed></object></p>
<p>Will Ferrell is back with director/writer Adam McKay for a zany cop drama must be more entertaining then Kevin Smith&#8217;s recent &#8216;Cop Out&#8217; .</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="350" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/s1wy_E7h2Wg" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/s1wy_E7h2Wg"></embed></object></p>
<p>Lastly, but definitely not least, is the restored &#8216;Metropolis&#8217;. A landmark in the science fiction genre is being re-released in cinemas with extra scenes (in fact 25 minutes worth). A must-see for all classic film fans.</p>

<p><strong>Scene set</strong>: After taking a job as an office clerk, Puppeteer Craig Schwartz finds a strange portal that puts you inside John Malkovich&#8217;s mind. Consumed by the anger of his colleague Maxine and his wife&#8217;s relationship (through Malkovich), Craig goes into the head of the actor, posing as Lottie (his wife). He discovers that he can be controlled, to the obvious despair of John, who follows Maxine one evening to find the truth. In doing so he discovers his portal, and demands that he goes inside&#8230;</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>From: <em>Almost Famous (Cameron Crowe, 2000)</em>&#8230;Tiny Dancer.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><a href="http://hellofilm.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/05138.jpg#utm_source=feed&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=feed"><img class="size-full wp-image-468 aligncenter" title="05138" src="http://hellofilm.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/05138.jpg" alt="" width="432" height="247" /></a></strong></p>
<p><strong>Scene set</strong>: After an argument with lead singer Jeff about the creative control of the band, Russell takes William aside and pleads to be shown something &#8217;real&#8217; <strong>. </strong>He finds his wish, following some &#8216;regular guys looking for a good time&#8217; to a house party. In true rock-star fashion Russell parties like a rock star, at one point declaring on a rooftop that he is a &#8216;golden god&#8217;. The next day he is worse for wear, guilty and ashamed as manager Dick drags him back onto the tour bus. The tension is rife as Jeff and the band glare at Russell as he takes a seat&#8230;</p>
