The Horror! The Horror!

Horror icon Wes Craven is back with a new film. Director of ‘The Hill Have Eyes’, ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ and the ‘Scream’ series has gone back to directing horror since working on (like many others) ‘Paris, je t’aime’ in 2006. His new film, ‘My Soul to Take’, has released a trailer. It looks like another film full of screaming teenagers with a rock soundtrack. Craven is currently working on a new ‘Scream’ film as well.

A more creepy trailer is for the Guillermo del Toro written, ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’. Starring Katie Holmes and based on a seventies television show, this film looks like great fun. Sadly it isn’t out til next year but the trailer whets my appetite.

Justin Bieber film finds director…

Yes, Paramount pictures look to cash in on Bieber fever by releasing a film about the young man himself, staring the young man himself.

16 year old singer Justin Bieber cruises around Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2010 in his flashy Lamborghini with his bodyguard passenger side as he voyaged for frozen yogurt! Fame Pictures, Inc
(This is him driving a Lambo on his way to get frozen yogurt – *Sigh*)

The film was announced a few weeks ago, but the ball really got rolling when Paramount, MTV films and Def Jam music group announced on friday that the film will be directed by Step Up 3D director John M. Chu. I’m not sure that this will set some sort of precedence to what sort of film this will be. I have a feeling it will be a ‘classic’ rags to riches portrayal, fulfilling the  American dream. In other words Scarface with the drugs, guns, violence, swearing whores and immigration replaced by a hair straightens, guitars, signing, young girls, hair flicks and dancing (probably). Well they do say crime sells, and this is an obvious transgression upon society.

The film is set for a Valentines Day release, YUKKKK! So I send out a message to young boys with Bieber obsessed girlfriends. Either dump them, or endure the pain…this might be your chance to introduce yourself to them…can I say more? (Age permitting of course, but then again is the Bieber demographic at the legal age of consent?)

Either way I’m going to continue watching this, and will hope that the UK do not get the film at the same time (or at all…I can dream cant I?). I will end this on a positive not however, Bieber is reasonably talented. There I said It! , but it doesn’t change the fact that he is a whore to modern pop music…and please don’t get me started on that.
